Mp3's
Below is a sample from some of the records made at Chemical with Jay and Dean between the years 2006 - 2012.

Being audiophiles, we feel the need to tell you that the mp3's below do not fully represent the final product which has been compressed to fit the format.

Potassium Blast by Graham Wright

Produced by Dean & Jay

Mixed By John Critchley

Production-wise, this song is one of the more complex and experimental tracks on the new Graham Wright record. The tune travels through a wide selection of instrumentation, and the sounds evolve through various states of distortion, fidelity, roomy-ness, etc. In the third verse, things break down into an improvised audio collage. Then we start back up again, building the chorus around a single microphone before the big finale. Potassium Blast has cigarette box amplifiers, saxophones, Hammond organ, and almost every other noise maker we have.

Chemical Sound was a recording studio in Toronto Canada from 1992 to 2012. The studio was a part of many important Canadian and International albums including: Death From Above 1979, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Sarah Slean, Sloan, Elevator Through.

From 2006 to 2012 Dean Marino and Jay Sadlowski ran the studio, working with great bands like: The Black Keys, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Tokyo Police Club, Born Ruffians, C'MON, Sweet Thing, The Elwins, EIMIC, Attack in Black and many many more.

We want to thank everyone who has supported us over the years.

Salut!
Jay & Dean
